Intervention access

In distress situations, machines may need to be controlled or default escape actions may need to be initiated from a distance. Distressed speech is extremely difficult to understand and there hasn't been much research in this area. We call these speech-based escape systems intervention access systems, and are looking at these kinds of speech more closely.

Speech and gesture

Multimodal speech recognition has gained much attention in recent years. Multimodal applications understand human speech by analyzing other cues parallely with speech, such as lip movements and facial expressions. This improves understanding and response performance greatly under many conditions, but is computationally very expensive for small devices. At Haikya we are developing technologies for low-cost, high-performance speech and gesture analysis systems.
